Extra Credit: Performing (and Publishing) Essay Three

This extra credit assignment will give you the opportunity to:

1. Think about how writing "translates" into other media, such as video.
2. Gain additional experience with presenting and performing.
3. Present opportunity to further refine/revise your writing. 

For this assignment, you will record yourself reading Essay Three and post that video on the class blog. You may begin this reading with an informal introduction (no more than a minute) in which you give your audience a preview or context for your essay, or refer to the writing you did in the written introduction that is also on the page. Then read your essay, keeping in mind that your reading is a performance (that means you should be sure to emote and be expressive while reading).

The easiest route to take for this assignment is to record a YouTube video of that performance using a webcam-equipped computer. This page is helpful for explaining that process, as well as some alternatives (some of which involve doing post-production editing). Once you have a recording of your performance, you should then publish it by either linking to or embedding it on our course blog.
