Journal four
Part 1.Chapter 14 Beah finally got to see how war was like, he saw one of his friends get killed and it made him think about how it would be like if he went and killed someone. When he watched his friend die it made him angry and made him want to fight back even more and he killed somebody for the first time and he also started doing drugs. This sene was important because if you look back to when beah wasn’t a soldier he wasn’t like how he was now the way he reacts to situations now he’s very anger and killing somebody is a traumatic experience so it changed how he perceives things whoever’s prisoner dies the quickest wins” shows Beah has become heartless and he likes killing now because the soldiers over the camp brain washed the other soldiers to thinking the only way is to kill all the rebels.
Part 2. “Do you think he can truly rehabilitate? Why or why not?” I think Beah can rehabilitate with time but it’s not granted that he will because he could get PTSD it all depends on how he comes out of war and if he would be willing to put in time to get help.

I agree with you saying this scene is important because it shows what has happen to our hero. I also think he will have a lot of PTSD just simply because of all the bad things he has seen and all the bad things he has did.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the war changed him. He gets easily angered. I agree that he will have PTSD. He's already having nightmares about the war. I feel sorry for him. The war might be over, but it's not in his head.
